All classes require registration, Center membership is required: must show current membership card at registration. Please feel free to come and observe any class. Refunds for missed classes must be requested from the instructor.
Needle Felting for Beginners
Wednesday, May 20, 10 am
Join us for a 2-hour introduction to needle felting and take home a 2-dimensional embellishment for a car or package or a seasonal ornament of your choice. Sometimes funny, mostly fun! Cost: $20, payable to Elizabeth Kane. Max. 12 attendees. (2 spots will be given by drawing for those on a tight budget - drop you name at the front desk for consideration.)

Basic Quilting Course
Fridays, 1:30 - 3:30
If you are interested in learning to make a quilt or have tried quilting with limited success, then this class is for you! This 3 week course will start with the basic first steps to lay the foundation and then build up your skills to complete some samples. The instructor will teach rotary cutting and will discuss the supplies needed at the first class. You will also need a sewing machine and fabric for the second class. Do you have a sewing machine collecting dust? Have you forgotten how to thread it, or how to change the needle or bobbin, or is it just too frustrating to use? Learn how your machine works and tips to make sewing less frustrating, and other things you were probably never taught about machine sewing. You can bring your machine along with its manual or you can just take notes that will help you later. This class is being offered on multiple dates so you can choose a date that works for you. Sewing Machine Refresher - Part II

This class is for those who have already taken the sewing machine refresher class and want a review, re-cap or to go further. I will review what we went over in the first class but move on to what you actually need help with. Examples are hems/waistbands, mending/alterations, simple clothes/curtains or quilting. If you are already confident with your machine and just need help starting a project, contact instructor Pam Davis to see if this class ia appropriate. Cost: $20
Writers Group
First and Third Wednesday, 10 am - noon
Come and join a congenial group of writers who love to spin their words into memoirs, poems, stories and books! Beginners are welcomed. Attend all sessions or come as often as you can. Please bring a fiction piece you are working on to share and receive thoughtful feedback along with copies to provide to the other participants. Drop in and give it a try - you might be amazed at what you discover!

Model Building

Country Line Dancing

This is a fun class for anyone to get started in Country Line Dancing. Steps will be broken down and taught at an easy pace. Dances are done to fun, upbeat music! Must be a Senior Center member.

We play bridge, pinochle, canasta, hand-and-foot card games and more. This is a great opportunity to meet new friends. Generally, foursomes are established and seldom have openings for drop-in players. Then follow up with people on the list to establish new groups of play.
