Do you know an exceptional caregiver or caregiving provider?
We want to hear from you!
New York State is holding a Virtual Caregivers Conference hosted by the New York State Office for the Aging, Aging NY, and the New York State Caregiving and Respite Coalition. The conference will be held on June 1 and 2 and will focus on supporting mental health and self-care for caregivers of older adults and individuals with dementia across New York State.
At any given time during the year, New York has approximately 4.1 million caregivers that provide unpaid care to their loved ones, and it is estimated nationally that 80 percent of all Long Term Services and Supports (LTSS) are provided by family caregivers while balancing care, work, and other family responsibilities. As we all continue to navigate the world of COVID-19, feelings of stress and isolation are familiar to all of us. For family caregivers, these feelings are increasingly prevalent.
New York State wants to recognize and honor caregivers and caregiving professionals who go above and beyond in their respective roles. If you know a caregiver or caregiving professional who has demonstrated compassion, patience, dependability, flexibility, trustworthiness, and other qualities that make them essential and exceptional, consider nominating them today!
